Favorite Cruelty-Free Finds: March 2019

As I’ve mentioned before, it can be tough to find great cruelty-free products that work well for you. I’m always on the lookout for good cruelty-free finds myself – and love sharing recommendations. Each month, I’ll share my current favorites and what products are working well for me. Here are my March finds!

Cocokind's Raspberry Vinegar Toner

What is it? The raspberry vinegar toner “is designed for those with oily or acne-prone skin. Cold-pressed and fermented raspberries deliver an acetic acid and nutrient-rich vinegar that regulates oil production and calms breakouts.”

Why do I love it? Since I switched over to cruelty-free products, I was having issues finding something that helped with my acne. I’ve never had major issues with acne but will get clogged pores and some decent sized pimples from time to time. Using this toner daily has helped in so many ways – helping to prevent pimples before they pop up and reducing inflammation of the ones I may already have. Couldn’t recommend this more!

Where can you buy it? On Cocokind’s website (I love that you can also do a 10-day trial, to test out their full system before buying the larger sizes!). Cocokind is also available at certain Whole Foods and Targets – find out if they’re in stock by you here

Lush's Montalbano Shampoo Bar

What is it? “Made with brightening Sicilian lemon oil, lemon juice and fresh olives, [the Montalbano shampoo bar] makes hair shine bright like a diamond from root to tip.” The rosemary helps “keep irritated scalps soothed, while leaving hair smelling like a fresh citrusy grove with an herbal edge.”

Why do I love it? I’ll be honest, I was a little unsure about how well a shampoo bar would work. For some reason I like when my shampoo is really “sudsy” – it makes me feel like my hair and scalp is getting extra clean, y’know? Well let me tell you, this bar surpassed my expectations! It’s extra “sudsy,” smells so good and I can immediately tell my hair is clean. Added bonus: no plastic!

Andalou Naturals' Marula Oil Silky Smooth Conditioner

What is it? This conditioner is for “defiant, curly and coarse hair.” The conditioner’s “fruit stem cell complex and exotic marula oil are nourishing and conditioning with powerful antioxidants and replenishing oleic acids to help boost hydration, soften and tame unruly tresses with sleek, smooth, luxurious shine.”

Why do I love it? Boy, do I have defiant, curly and coarse hair! It can be tough for me to find a conditioner that checks all those boxes – without feeling too heavy or greasy for my hair. Andalou Naturals makes my hair feel silky, smooth and clean and helps bring out my natural curl.

Where can you buy it? I found my bottle at my local Harris Teeter! There are so many local retailers you can find Andalou Naturals at – and you can order online.

Ursa Major's Hoppin' Fresh Deodorant

What is it? This “natural deodorant eliminates underarm odor while absorbing excess moisture and soothing skin. Its reliable performance, healthy ingredients and invigorating aroma will keep you fresh all day long.”

Why do I love it? Natural, cruelty-free deodorant can be a tough find (I myself have had issues with itchy pits/redness). I tried out this trial size of Ursa Major’s Hoppin’ Fresh deodorant and immediately knew this was a good one. It smells good, actually lasts all day and I didn’t have any reactions.

Where can you buy it? I purchased my trial size from Credo Beauty (got some other beauty samples along with it!). You can also order directly from Ursa Major or check out their local retailers

Hello's Naturally Whitening Toothpaste

What is it? Hello’s naturally whitening toothpaste is “formulated with a calcium mineral blend that whitens and brightens your smile.” The toothpaste is “farm grown, super-peppy peppermint, tea tree oil to tame bad breath, and coconut oil to moisturize for extra friendliness.”

Why do I love it? My previous cruelty-free toothpaste had a bit of an odd taste to it – not a bad one, but I’m used to a minty fresh toothpaste. Hello’s naturally whitening toothpaste has the same taste that I love, and has natural ingredients that I’m happy to use!
