Favorite Cruelty-Free Finds: April 2019

Can you believe April is almost over?! We still have a little over a week left but boy, it felt like it went quick.

Regardless – the sun has started shining and the temperatures are (finally) rising. So, for my favorite cruelty-free finds this month, I do have some of my usual go-to’s but also some warm-weather necessities. Including bright nail polish, hair products to beat frizz and sunscreen (very important).

Without further ado, here are my April finds!

Cocokind Turmeric Spot Treatment

What is it? The turmeric spot treatment “helps tackle inflammation and hyperpigmentation.” It “helps to brighten skin tone by reducing excess melanin production.”

Why do I love it? While your skin may be slightly yellow when you have it on (don’t worry – it comes off quickly and easily!), this organic spot treatment really works. I put it on in the morning while I’m getting ready for work and it really has helped with inflammation, red spots etc. I also use it under my Cocokind chlorophyll mask for an extra boost.

Where can you buy it? On Cocokind’s website. Cocokind is also available at select Whole Foods and Targets – find a store near you!

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

What is it? This serum “smooths, conditions and seals hair strands to add shine while the award-winning formula is perfect for speeding up hair drying time to give you silky-smooth results in less time, every time.”

Why do I love it? Again, another product that works! I’m “lucky” enough to have naturally dry, frizzy, thick hair that has a slight (?) curl to it – more like a poofy wave. I put the Super Skinny Serum on my damp hair when I get out of the shower. It helps take away some of that frizz and keeps my strands soft – a lifesaver in the summer, especially!

Where can you buy it? I purchased mine at an Ulta, though you can order directly from Paul Mitchell – and lots of other places!

Yes To Tea Tree Natural Deodorant

What is it? A natural deodorant “formulated with charcoal and tea tree to absorb wetness, soothe and cool skin, neutralize odor and help gently detox and remove impurities from the underarm area.”

Why do I love it? I’ve said before that finding natural deodorant that works for you can be tough. When my usual deodorant suddenly ran out, I knew I needed something quick – at least to get me through a couple of days. I found myself at Target and stumbled across this Yes To deodorant – and I’m saying yes! My pits don’t get itchy or red (which can happen with natural deodorant), I smell good all day long…what more could you want.

Orly Turquoise Color Blast Nail Polish

What is it? The Orly Color Blast nail polish “is designed to change pigments depending on how the light hits the shade.”

Why do I love it? Let me start by saying this: I like to pretend I’m a mermaid (ever seen Aquamarine?). Ok not really, but I love all things turquoise! If my nails are painted, there’s a 99.99% chance they are some shade of turquoise/aquamarine. This is my current favorite nail color hands down.

Also, a lot of people might not know what cruelty-free nail polish brands are out there. I definitely recommend Orly!

Where can you buy it? I did get this specific bottle as a stocking stuffer (thanks Santa!) but I did find it available at Kmart

Sun Bum Sunscreen

What is it? “This moisturizing sunscreen formula will protect your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays while enriching your skin with Vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps to neutralize free radicals, which are the main cause of premature skin aging.”

Why do I love it? First and foremost, sunscreen is so important! This brand has been my go-to for many years now. I knew it was a winner when I went to Mexico for the first time without a hint of color, and didn’t turn slightly red. It smells super good too!
