Happy June (…and almost July!) This post is a little delayed, and I realized I skipped my favorite cruelty-free finds for May. But, better late than never, right?!
Since it has been a while since I posted my faves, I’ve been testing out some new products and have some NEW cruelty-free faves to share with you today!
Here are my June finds:
Cocokind Facial Cleansing Oil
What is it? The facial cleansing oil “removes excess oil, dirt and impurities, while also protecting the skin’s delicate acid mantle.”
Why do I love it? I use this cleansing oil every night before bed. Not only does it help cleanse without overdrying my skin, but it removes any leftover makeup! I can go to sleep knowing my face is perfectly clean. I follow up the cleanser with Cocokind’s raspberry vinegar toner – which I mentioned in a previous post was another fave.
Where can you buy it? At cocokind.com. As always, I recommend trying out their 10-day trial! It’s the perfect amount to really test out what products you like / work for you. Cocokind is also available at select Targets, Whole Foods – and other stores. Check out where it’s available near you!
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme
What is it? This eye cream “brightens and instantly targets fine lines and wrinkles.” “Collagen-boosted, it firms and deeply hydrates even as it feels deliciously lightweight…”
Why do I love it? I’ve always had puffy under eyes (genetics, lucky me!) and this is a product that really helps! I use it every morning before I put on any makeup, and I instantly notice a difference. The puffiness isn’t entirely eliminated, but it definitely gives me brighter eyes.
Where can you buy it? OleHenriksen.com (they often have a free gift with your first purchase!). I bought this small tester size to try it out first. Ole Henriksen is also available at Sephora, so check out your local store.
Acure Radically Rejuvenating SPF Day Cream
What is it? This SPF cream “contains turmeric, ferulic acid and vitamin C for nourishment and antioxidant protection as well as reef-safe zinc oxide for a forceful shield from sun damage.”
Why do I love it? I wear SPF on my face every day (I wish I could go back and tell my 16 year old self to do this!). This is lightweight, the perfect SPF for everyday wear and goes on smooth.
Where can you buy it? I purchased my bottle from Target. You can also purchase directly at Acure.com, as well as at ThriveMarket.com and on Amazon. And I’m sure you can find them at many other stores!
Hello's Activated Charcoal + Natural Acai Toothpaste
What is it? This fluoride free toothpaste has “activated charcoal (made from sustainable bamboo), which helps detoxify your mouth, epically whiten your teeth, and freshen your breath.”
Why do I love it? I previously tried Hello’s naturally whitening toothpaste. When I ran out, I headed to the store – and found they were out of stock too. However, I saw this activated charcoal toothpaste on the shelf and figured I’d give it a try. Let me tell you, it works! My teeth and gums feel fresh and clean. And while the color can be a little startling at first (…it is the color of charcoal! A dark-ish gray), it easily rinses off and doesn’t leave any residue.
e.l.f. lengthening & volumizing mascara
What is it? “This mascara creates full, long-looking lashes that define the eye.”
Why do I love it? Look, I’m all for a bargain. In the summer especially, when I’m not wearing too much makeup anyway, I just need something quick and that gets the job done. This is the drugstore mascara that works for me! I do switch between this and higher-end mascara – and will share my other favorites soon. But this is such a good deal and I’ve never had an issue with it. Based on the reviews there are some users who have had issues with clumping / not drying, but mine stays on and hasn’t clumped.
