October is all about spooky costumes and fall leaves – and for me, it’s about wedding prep too! I’m getting married in the spring so I definitely have time to get everything organized (…though it’ll be here before I know it!), but one thing I wanted to update sooner rather than later was my skincare routine.
I’ve been trying out some cult favorites this month and wanted to share my new favorites too (plus a new shower must-have). So, without further ado, here are this month’s cruelty-free finds!
Cocokind Sea Moss Exfoliator
What is it? This gentle exfoliant “smooths away uneven skin texture and rids skin of dead skin cells, while also leaving behind nourishing vitamins and minerals to freshly polished skin.”
Why do I love it? It’s important for exfoliants to be gentle while also effective. This is the best I’ve found so far! I like to mix it with another one of my Cocokind faves, the facial cleansing oil. It feels wonderful when putting it on and I can tell that it is getting rid of dirt and dead skin cells.
Weleda Skin Food
What is it? Skin Food contains “extracts of gentle viola tricolor, calendula and chamomile, in a rich, thick base of oils and beeswax.” It “hydrates skin to give you a healthy-looking glow.”
Why do I love it? I’ve always had dry skin. I’ll randomly get dry patches on my cheek, nose etc. I’ve tried different moisturizers that work great but this one is a step above the rest. A little bit goes a looong way so I’ll use a small amount and suddenly, my face is silky smooth! You can also use this on other problem areas like knees, elbows…wherever you suffer from dry skin.
The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension
What is it? The Ordinary’s Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% “brightens the skin-tone, provides anti-aging benefits to the skin and provides antioxidant protection.”
Why do I love it? My skin feels smoother immediately after using this. For anyone who hasn’t tried this yet, just be aware that you only need to use a VERY small amount (a little less than a pea size), and pat it on vs. rubbing it in. It can tingle / sting a bit so patting it on helps. With this in my routine, I can see a difference in brightness after just a few weeks!
Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner
What is it? This is a “mild resurfacing toner that brightens and balances skin post-cleanse.” It “works to refine pores and diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone.”
Why do I love it? First and foremost, I love the bang for the buck here. It’s sold at a very affordable price and, having used it for a few weeks now, I feel that it’s helping to even out my skin tone. Every time I use it, my face feels clean and fresh.
Pacifica Coconut Power Strong & Long Conditioner
What is it? This moisturizing conditioner “helps revive dry, damaged hair weakened by chemical processes, over-washing, heat styling, or daily environmental exposure.”
Why do I love it? Because boy do I have dry, damaged hair! I’ve been keeping up with my hair more lately – regular trims, deep conditions etc., and I loved adding this to my routine. It moisturizes each strand without feeling to heavy or greasy – and it smells so good!
